Local Artists

From potters to painters, singers to sculptures - the Upper Delaware River Valley is home to scores of performing and visual artists.

The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and the Delaware Valley Opera are both located in Narrowsburg which is considered the Arts Capital of the Upper Delaware River Valley.

The DVAA - as it's called - hosts monthly gallery openings in both its' galleries along with music recitals and readings upstairs in the newly renovated Arts Building which happens to be on the National Register.

In addition, the DVAA sponsors CineArt at the Callicoon Theatre. First-run International and Indie flicks are presented for public.

The DVAA is also responsible for grant writing to the various state and federal agencies in securing funds and capital for artists and arts projects.

Lastly, the annual RiverFest - a daylong celebration of both the arts and the river - is jointly hosted by both the DVAA and the Narrowsburg Chamber of Commerce.

The highpoint of RiverFest is the art poster auction in which over sixty artists contribute their skills by creating posters for the highest bidder.

All proceeds go to the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance to further their cause to providing the finest in arts, culture and entertainment for those of us who live here and many of you who might visit Narrowsburg.
